A Voice for Women in Psychiatry

The Association of Women Psychiatrists and Wyeth-Ayerst is proud to announce the development of the AWP/Wyeth-Ayerst Fellowship program for women psychiatric residents.  Two candidates will be selected based on a demonstrated leadership potential, interest in and commitment to women’s health, academic excellence and community mental health service.

The Association of Women Psychiatrists aim to improve communication and provide support to women psychiatrists, promote women psychiatrists into leadership positions in all aspects of health care, collect and disseminate information on women’s health issues, and influence the policy and procedures of the American Psychiatric Association so that it meets the needs of women. 

I invite you to nominate a psychiatry resident, applications are due by February 15, 2002; we will accept one application per residency training program.  The recipients will receive a $2500 stipend each and will be expected to attend the AWP Meeting held at  the APA Annual Meeting in Philadelphia in May.

The applications with all supporting documents should be submitted as a packet, individual documents will not be accepted, and must be received by February 15, submitted to:  PO Box 570218, Dallas, TX 75357-0218.  If you have questions please call Frances Bell at:  972-613-0985.  If you want to overnight applications, the delivery address is:  1737 Omar Drive, Mesquite, TX 75150.  No applications will be accept by fax.
